MARQUETTE -- You either already have plans or are making them for New Year's Eve.

The big night is mainly for adults, but kids also enjoy a party, and there just so happens to be one to ring in the New Year.  It's at the U.P. Children's Museum in Marquette.

The museum is holding their annual ball drop for kids New Year's Eve beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Kids can enjoy food, music and there's plenty of activities for play time at the museum. At 7:30, the ball will drop with a countdown.  This year they have a new and improved ball.

"Ours is really cool--it's got Christmas lights all around it and big flowing lights in the middle, and so it's a very nice ball," said Museum Director, Nheena Weyer Ittner.

Tickets are five dollars for each child.  They'll receive party hats and noise makers.  Museum officials ask that you purchase your tickets in advance.
