Poll: Public School Condom Dispensers
Twenty-two Philadelphia high schools will have something new when the kids go back to class -- condom dispensers.
They are being installed over the winter break inside the nurse's office for each school. The plan is to promote safer sex among teenagers. The chosen schools have the highest rates of sexually transmitted disease in the city. According to the Centers for Disease Control, about a quarter of all new H-I-V infections in Philadelphia are teens.
The condoms will be free to any student whose parent didn't opt them out of the program.
City officials say STDs among teenagers is an epidemic that needs to be stopped.
Tonight in the Daily Pulse we're wondering: Should condom dispensers be installed in public high schools? Yes or no? Why or why not?
