MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP -- Thursday's snow came just in time for the first ever Santa Snowshoe Shuffle Friday night. The event is a 5-k run through some of the Noquemanon trails. The race is part of the Superior Snowshoe Series. Organizers say this is a good event to see if snowshoeing is right for you.
"Come out and try it, it's great exercise, it doesn't take very long since it is a little extra work if you snowshoe in these for about 20 minutes your going to feel like you did a great workout, so get out and try something new it makes the winter go by faster," said Andrew Grosvner Race Director.
Before the race they also held a raffle for a new pair of Dion snowshoes. The cost for the race was $5, with portions of that going to maintain the Noque trails.
