ISHPEMING -- The Saint Joseph Catholic Church hall in Ishpeming was filled with the Hematite football team and fans Wednesday evening.

Over 300 community members were there for a banquet to honor the team on their storybook year.

Coach Jeff Olson and players gave speeches on how much the football season has impacted their lives.  Then a highlight video, that included interviews with people from all over Ishpeming, was shown.

"They're the same kids that they've always have been, and they always are.  In my classroom, they're the same, just as they always have been.  They're a great bunch to be around.  Anyone who comes in association with them will say the same thing.  They're a great bunch to be around," said Ishpeming Athletic Director, Terry Roberts.

The players autographed footballs and t-shirts which were all given away at the banquet.
