SANDS TOWNSHIP -- Fire has destroyed a home located on County Road 480 in Sands Township.  The fire broke out around 6:15 Tuesday evening.

The home located at 930 County Road 480 was fully involved when firefighters arrived on scene.  Multiple agencies were on hand to battle the blaze.  Chocolay Township, Negaunee Township, Sands Township and Marquette County 131 were all called to the scene.

The Sands Township Fire Chief says one person was inside the home.  That person got out on their own, but was injured.  The occupant was able to drive to the hospital for treatment.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
