Recount for Keweenaw Bay Indian Community Election Board

BARAGA -- A recount for the Baraga District nominees will take place on Monday, December 17 at 9 a.m.

The Keweenaw Bay Indian Community Election Board says a recount is required when three votes or less determine the outcome of any election for an office.

The unofficial election results for the Tribal Council in the Baraga District show Gary Loonsfoot, Sr. with 181 votes and Don Messer, Jr. with 184 votes.

Incumbent Jerry Lee Curtis has 162 votes and Warren "Chris" Swarts, Jr. has 276 votes.
