HOUGHTON -- A Michigan Tech Sorority is putting on a blanket drive in Houghton.  The Alpha Delta Alpha house is collecting blankets to donate to the Copper Country Humane Society.

The sisters in the house say they visit the shelter often to volunteer their time.  They want to donate to the Humane Society because they feel connected with the animals.

"We decided to do the blanket drive because we wanted something physical for the animals to have as well as the people who work there," said Vice President of the Sorority, Britni Ashburn.

Various drop boxes are located on Tech's campus as well as downtown Houghton.

The Alpha Delta Alpha Sorority sisters will be collecting the blankets this weekend, and say if you can't make it to a drop box location they will come to your house to pick up any donations.
