NEGAUNEE -- The holidays are a busy time for shopping, and a fundraiser this weekend in Negaunee is giving kids the chance to pick up some gifts for loved ones.

It is called the Jingle Bell Shop, and profits will go to the Negaunee Orchestra program.

The orchestra elves are hosting shopping days on Friday from 4 to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the cafeteria at Lakeview School. All elementary-aged kids in the area are invited to come and pick out presents for family members.

"Cute little stuffed animals and crafts they can buy for their parents," said orchestra member Caylee Dempsey.

"The fundraiser is to help raise some money for the orchestra to help with repairs of the instruments or trips," added Amanda Holman.

Gift wrapping will be available on Friday and Saturday, along with games and activities. There will also be a bake sale and coffee for parents to enjoy while their children shop.
