MARQUETTE -- The Northern Michigan University Football running back who pled guilty to assault and battery charges was in Marquette County District Court Monday.

New Jersey native Prince Young pled guilty to the charges following an incident at the Vera Bar in late January.  Part of the plea included Young paying restitution and medical expenses for the injured victim.  He did not pay the amount due on time and has pled guilty to being in contempt of court.

Young has paid $2,300 which is roughly half of the total due.  Marquette County District Court Judge Roger Kangas has delayed his sentencing until Young has finished paying.

NMU has also set a deadline for Young.  He has until the end of January to finish paying.

Sentencing is scheduled again for February 7.
