ESCANABA -- The holidays can be a tough time for the less fortunate in our community, but these tough times can also affect the other members of the community, your pets.

The Escanaba Vet Clinic is teaming up with Pet Place and the Salvation Army to accept donations for animals in the community. They include toys, bedding, and of course, dog and cat food.

The holiday event has been taking place for nearly ten years, and it assists pets whose owners may not be able to provide for them.

"It's important because there are a lot of families that have animals, and they may have to make choices this time of the year, and maybe the animals don't get what they need, like their basic necessities. So we're trying to help have those covered," said Holly Thomma of the Escanaba Vet Clinic.

You can drop off donations at the Escanaba Vet Clinic or at Pet Place until December 16.
