Late night fire damages Escanaba apartment complex

Escanaba Public Safety responded to the 300 block of South 8th Street on Tuesday at 11 p.m.

ESCANABA -- A fire broke out Tuesday night at an apartment complex in Escanaba.

The blaze was reported at 11:01 p.m. on the 300 block of South 8th Street. The apartments are commonly known as the Pascoe Apartments.

Escanaba Public Safety said no one was injured after a car garage caught on fire and spread to several other cars. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The blaze also damaged the apartment buildings near it and garages across the alley from where the fire originated.

Escanaba Public Safety was assisted by the Ford River Township Fire Department, the Delta County Sheriff's Department, Michigan State Police, Rampart EMS and the Red Cross.
