Candidates down to 4 in each district in KBIC Tribal Council election

BARAGA COUNTY -- The list of candidates has been narrowed from eight to four in each of the districts in the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community Tribal Council election. The Primary Election was held on Saturday.

The top four candidates will move on to the general election in early December. There are two seats open in each the Baraga and L'Anse Districts.

The winners for the Baraga District are Incumbents Jerry Lee Curtis and Warren 'Chris' Swartz, Jr. along with Gary Loonsfoot, Sr. and Don Messer, Jr.

The winners for the L'Anse District are Incumbents Eddy Edwards and Susan LaFernier along with David Haataja and Jennifer Misegan.
