MARQUETTE -- Many people from the community came together for dinner, music, and a good cause at the Holiday Inn Saturday.
North Star Academy held its first annual dinner fundraiser. Guests enjoyed some food and live music. People also participated in a silent auction and raffle items.
The dinner is to raise funds for the new arts and culture classroom.
"We broke ground for it June 8 and had it ready for the start of the school year. It's about a 7000 square foot classroom used for both music and art classes," said Superintendent of North Star Academy, Karen Anderson.
Tickets were $40 and more than 140 were sold.
