Fire destroys Powell Township home

POWELL TOWNSHIP -- Fire destroyed a home in Powell Township late Friday afternoon.  The fire broke out just before 5:00 p.m. at 5870 County Road 550.

Firefighters were able to get the blaze under control before it spread to nearby homes.  Officials say no one was in the home when the fire started.  No injuries were reported.

No word yet on what caused the fire.  Powell Township fire and EMS responded to the scene.
