MARQUETTE -- On Tuesday, a new representative will be picked to represent the 109th District in Lansing.

Current Representative Steve Lindberg has served for three terms, which is the limit in the State House. Lindberg was elected back in 2006.

He says the economy was the number one issue during his time in office. Looking back, the Marquette resident says he is most proud of his work on an energy policy rewrite because of the bipartisan and statewide efforts that went into it.

Lindberg says his biggest accomplishment in his district was saving the State Police crime lab in Marquette. After his term officially ends on December 31, Lindberg plans to take life day by day and spend time with his family.

"I've lived in the U.P. all my life, and I still don't know where all the two-rut roads go, and I think I need to find out where all these two-rut roads go," said Lindberg.

He also says he thanks his family and everyone he has met across the state for their feedback and support.
