NEGAUNEE -- Lakeview Elementary students in Negaunee kicked off their Halloween with a parade Wednesday. Teachers prepared Halloween activities and snacks for the kids. Then the students put on their costumes and marched down to the Negaunee senior apartments. Teachers say this gives the kids a chance to show off, and it brightens some seniors' day.

"They get really excited to see all the kids come through with all their costumes. They usually have a goodie bag ready for them. It really puts a smile on their face to see all the kids come through, parading in all their different costumes," said Corrie LaCombe, second grade teacher at Lakeview.

The students did have to wear their winter clothing over their costumes while outside. Lakeview Elementary teachers and staff also dressed up for Halloween, many of them as superheros.
