SCHOOLCRAFT COUNTY -- Two men are facing multiple charges in separate break-in incidents in Schoolcraft County.

In the first case, 44-year-old Aaron Elmer Baker III is charged with five felonies for the break-in and theft of a safe from a home on Arbutus Avenue in Manistique on October 14. One of the charges, safe breaking, is punishable with life in prison if convicted. Baker is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on November 7.

In the second case, 31-year-old Russell Lee St. John was arrested for the burglary of a home on north First Street in Manistique on September 12. Included in the charges against him is second degree home invasion, which is a 15 year felony.

St. John waived his preliminary hearing and will be in circuit court for a disposition. The date of that appearance has not been set yet.
