MARQUETTE -- Girl Scout Troop 5015 in Marquette held a special ceremony Monday. The troop welcomed one new member, rededicated a number of Girl Scouts, and saw a transition to the next level of Girl Scouts. Senior leaders of the troop say that the scouts learn valuable lessons for life.

"I've been involved with Girl Scouts for 42 years, and I have seen girls move from becoming shy little girls to become strong adult leaders, and leadership is what Girl Scouts is all about," said Kathy Soltwisch, a leader of Troop 5015.

The Girl Scouts celebrated after the ceremony with a pot luck dinner. Plans are in place for a camping trip for the girls early in November.
