Red Cross volunteers go to East Coast to help

UPPER MICHIGAN -- The American Red Cross in Upper Michigan is sending volunteers to areas where the superstorm is hitting the East Coast.

Four people left Sunday morning for areas where the storm is expected to hit. Among them, a registered nurse from Hancock.

The Red Cross has over 360 people already deployed to areas expecting the worst of Hurricane Sandy and a nor'easter.

According to a Red Cross official, Upper Michigan personnel are on alert in case more volunteers are needed after the storm moves through.
