FELCH -- Make-A-Difference Day is Saturday, and even young preschool students got involved to give back to their community.
Preschool students at Zion Lutheran Preschool in Felch have been collecting items the entire week to donate to the local animal shelter.
The teachers hope getting children involved in their community at a young age will make them want to continue giving back as they get older.
"They've been talking about the animals. They all have pets at home," said Angie Dubose of the Zion Lutheran Preschool. "We've been talking all week about giving to the animals that don't have a home and don't have somebody to take care of them, so we've been collecting these items for those animals."
The students will be donating everything from kitty litter, pet food and also an assortment of toys and treats. This is the first time the preschool has done this, and faculty hope to find another way to give back again this spring.
