ESCANABA -- Bay College in Escanaba held its 25th annual occupational open house at the YMCA on Thursday, and it drew in 350 students from about a dozen schools.

Students chose from different occupational areas that they were interested in and then spent about 30 minutes learning about that specific program. Mark Kinney, the Executive Director for Business, Technology, and Workforce Development, says the experience helps the students make informed choices when they go to college.

"We have programs like our automotive program, our timber harvesting program, and our computer networking program," said Kinney. "They choose the different areas that they're interested in learning about, and then we have three different sessions that they get to attend."

The event was open to juniors and senior students.
