MARQUETTE -- The man killed in a pedestrian-vehicle crash on Sunday evening has been identified as 31-year-old Thomas Oral Pizziola of Ishpeming.

Police reported that the driver of a semi was traveling on US-41 near the Econo Lodge Hotel at 6:44 p.m. when he noticed a man walking on the shoulder of the highway. The driver changed lanes from the traffic lane to the passing lane, according to the Marquette Police Department. The driver said that the pedestrian then crossed in front of the driver and was hit by the semi.

Marquette police are still investigating the incident.
