Every animal there gets placed in a home
IRONWOOD -- For the last 25 years, Hope Animal Shelter in Ironwood has been giving stray animals a second chance. Over the years they've seen an increase in animals come through the shelter, and they're running out of room.
The shelter takes in dogs and cats, giving them a second chance.
Officials say it takes $150,000 to operate the facility. On average, at least 500 cats and dogs come through their doors each year, and that number is rising.
Officials say they're running out of space and would like help to redo the worn out floors.
“We're finding that there are a lot of strays and neglected animals,” says Director Randy Kirchhoff. “So if we could have a bigger, more efficient shelter, then we can better serve the public that way.”
He also says that every animal gets placed in a loving home.
