MARQUETTE -- A collection of Upper Peninsula high school sports legacies is currently on display in Marquette.
Saturday morning, dozens of people came to the Beaumier Heritage Center at Northern Michigan University to see the unveiling of the U.P. Power exhibit.
The exhibit, inside Cohodas Hall, spans over 100 years, featuring notable coaches, players and teams.
It took about a year for the planners to finish the display and to travel across the U.P. collecting artifacts.
The display was a first for the history center.
"We hadn't done anything about athletics, and we thought the U.P. has a really fascinating history in high school and beyond, and we thought, well, sounds like something fun that would attract an audience that normally doesn't come to the museum," said Dan Truckey, of the Beaumier Heritage Center.
U.P. Power will be on display until March 30
