MARQUETTE -- Marquette City Police responded to a road rage incident involving a machete on Wednesday morning at around 11 a.m. at the Medical Center.

Police reported that both vehicles were driving on McClellan Ave. when one allegedly cut the other off. The driver of the vehicle that was cut off followed the other driver to a parking lot at the Medical Center. The suspect, 66-year-old Jeffrey Rowal Anderson, exited his vehicle with a machete, according to police.

The other driver stayed in his vehicle and called 911 as Anderson was screaming at him and waving the machete around, police report. Anderson then struck the vehicle with the machete. He then got back into his vehicle, parked it, and went into the Medical Center without the weapon.

Police made contact with Anderson inside the Medical Center and arrested him. He is being charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, and malicious destruction of property. He is being held in the Marquette County Jail on $110,000 bond.
