MARQUETTE -- Parenting Awareness Michigan held their 20th annual conference Thursday morning in Marquette.
The conference is for parents, professionals and volunteers who work with families in the community. A number of workshops provide educational material and information about resources available to parents.
The focus of the event was positive parenting, child development and alcohol, tobacco and drug prevention.
"I have had a lot of people say that they really appreciate that we have hands-on, ready to go information for them so the parents that come to this conference come back if they can and I've also had parenting professionals who are working with parents tell me the same thing," said PAM coordinator Luanne Beaudry.
Local exhibitors were also there providing information for attendees. Teaching Family Homes and the Marquette Alger Regional Education Service Agency were among the exhibitors.
The next conference will be held in Lansing later in the year.
