HOUGHTON -- The Dollar Bay man who was charged with attempted safe breaking and attempted larceny was sentenced in Houghton County Circuit Court Tuesday.

The judge sentenced 20-year-old Gordon Matthew Lewis to time served.  He already spent a year in jail.

Lewis pled no contest to attempted safe breaking which happened last year at Miners State Bank in South Range.  He pled guilty to attempted larceny in a building which happened in a locker room at Michigan Tech.

"He (Lewis) should understand that while he's on probation, there's not going to be much tolerance for him.  He needs to learn that he's got to comply with the rules," said Prosecuting Attorney, Michael Makinen.

Lewis will be on probation for two years.
