EBEN -- Troopers from the Michigan State Police Negaunee Post are investigating a Saturday evening rollover crash that claimed the life of a Munising woman.

Jill Siltala, 59, was headed southbound on ET Rd south of Eben around 7 p.m. when her vehicle left the right side of the roadway, police said. The 2004 Mazda Tribute slammed sideways into a power pole, shearing it off. The vehicle hit the pole on the driver's side. The vehicle rolled over and flipped back on its wheels. Siltala was pronounced dead at the scene. Police used the Jaws of Life to extricate her from the vehicle. Siltala was the lone occupant of the vehicle.

Alcohol appears to have been a factor in the crash. State troopers were assisted by Rock River Fire and EMS, UPPCO and Alger County EMS.
