MARQUETTE -- Northern Michigan University students heard from a leader in the medical field about a fatal lung disease Thursday. Dr. William Wadland from Michigan State University talked about chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or COPD. Wadland talked about common misdiagnoses of the disease and why catching it early is so crucial.
"It's important to find out early because there are things that you can do to prevent it, and so you can live longer. But many times people will delay being identified, and then they don't get the proper treatment," said Dr. Wadland.
Thursday's lecture was the first in a series called Your Health. More information on the Your Health series can be found by clicking here.
