ISHPEMING -- The Marinette County District Attorney has filed a criminal complaint against the Wausaukee man involved a crash Friday night that claimed the life of a 13-year-old Ishpeming boy.

Twenty-eight-year-old Timothy Christ is facing eight criminal counts, including homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle. Police say Christ pulled out of the parking lot of a bar on US-141 in Middle Inlet around 11:30 p.m.

According to the complaint, Christ was driving northbound in the southbound lane with his lights off when he collided head-on with a car driven by Jodi Betts Croley.

Her son, 13-year-old Christopher Croley, was killed in the crash.

Mrs. Croley and her two daughters, 17-year-old Taylor and 16-year-old Gabrielle, were seriously injured and remain hospitalized in Green Bay.

On Monday the Ishpeming School District had their crisis team in place at the schools, as staff and students cope with the loss of the teenager.

Police say Christ had a blood alcohol level of .26. He also has a previous drunk driving conviction.

Christ was in court on Tuesday morning and his bond was set at $200,000. The defense asked for a $10,000 bond, due to Christ not being considered as a flight risk. The assistant district attorney requested a more than $100,000 bond.

Christ will be back in court on November 1 at 1 p.m. for his preliminary hearing.
