ISHPEMING -- Keeping kids healthy was top priority at Saturday's Harvest Fest in Ishpeming.

The sounds of live band music filled the air as children were kept busy having fun. Pony riding, face painting, and pumpkin bowling were a few of the activities. The event began earlier in the day as participants braved the weather in a fun run.

"It was an adventure. Our runners were so awesome. They saw the joy in the snow, the rain, and the sun. It's never too late and it's never too wintery to adopt healthy choices," said Ruth Solinski, the fest's vice president.

This joint fundraiser between Big Brothers, Big Sisters and Bell Foundation supported the youth wellness programming.
