IRON MOUNTAIN -- Veterans are encouraged to attend the Iron Mountain versus Kingsford football game Saturday for a chance to feel like a hero again.

It's an annual tradition for all of the veterans to be brought down to the field and receive recognition before Saturday's kickoff.

All veterans are welcome to come, and last year, 70 veterans were recognized.  They hope to have a big turnout.

"It actually gives the veteran a chance to be a hero again and actually gives a chance to the fans to thank those veterans from afar, really," said Chuck Lantz from the Office of Veterans Affairs.

Prior to kickoff, there will be a tailgate party beginning at 11:30 a.m. with food for the veterans.
