MARQUETTE COUNTY -- A Saturday event called Farm to Table is a unique fundraiser for the Marquette Regional History Center's new building campaign.

The day starts at 3 p.m. at Seeds and Spores Farm in Skandia with a tour of the organic farm. The Marquette Food Co-op will lead a discussion about the region's history of farming and the nation's renewed interest in its relationship to food.

They'll also prepare and serve a five course dinner in a barn, incorporating locally sourced ingredients.

"People should come because it's going to be a really different, fun experience," said campaign manager Jon Becker. "There's a lot of interest in this topic, I think, in understanding where your food comes from."

Tickets for the event are $50 and can be purchased at the Marquette Food Co-op or the Marquette Regional History Center. They have a little less than a million dollars to raise to pay off the $3.8 million building. More information on Saturday's event is available on the Marquette Regional History Center's website.
