MARQUETTE -- Friday marks the Third Annual Hockey on Third Street in Marquette.  The parade coincides with Marquette's annual Old Timer's Hockey Tournament, and the parade is a fun way to kick off the hockey season.

"We thought what a great way to kick off the season by getting just a bunch of hockey kids, older, younger, everybody, and just have a parade, and it's really been fun and successful," said parade organizer, Kim L'Huillier.

The parade begins at 5:30 p.m. Friday at the Berry Events Center and ends on Baraga Avenue near the Marquette Regional History Center.

A reception will be held following the parade along with a screening of the Disney movie, "The Mighty Ducks" at the Marquette Commons.  The NMU Wildcats hockey team will be at the Commons to sign autographs before the movie begins.

Meanwhile, the Old Timer's Hockey Tournament kicks off Thursday afternoon.
