NEGAUNEE -- The People's Law School is coming back for the fourth year in Negaunee to offer residents a chance to learn the basics of law.

It's a four-week program designed to teach about topics like divorce, criminal law, and real estate.

A new addition this year is focused on when the government gets it wrong. They'll discuss what you should do when the government violates your rights.

"Where people actually encounter the courts, attorneys, when there are parties in the system," said attorney Karl Numinen. "It helps them to understand and relate to the law in a deeper way than they would get from watching the TV."

Classes are every Thursday, starting September 27, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Negaunee High School auditorium. For information on registering, check out the People's Law School website.
