CHAMPION -- Campers at Van Riper State Park in Champion celebrated the first day of fall celebrating the season.

Saturday was the third and last Harvest Festival at Van Riper. Campers dressed in their best Halloween costumes, some even acting in their own spooky display. Hayrides, trick or treating, and a haunted hike were just some of the activities.

"We just want to have fun. We have the Harvest Fest because we just want to have fun here in the parks and boy, do they! They're really quite giddy, they're really quite happy and have fun," said Doug Barry, the park's supervisor.

The park will be getting ready for cross country skiing events in December.
