MARQUETTE -- Northern Michigan University held its first game day block party Saturday before the football game.

There was a big turnout from students and alumni. NMU President David Haynes spoke to the crowd. The marching band performed for the crowd. There was food and games for everyone. Visitors could Kream a Kappa to donate to the Special Olympics and the rain didn't keep people from dancing in the streets.

Afterward, everyone walked to the football game at the Superior Dome.
