IRON RIVER -- The 11th annual Senior Expo at the Iron River Senior Center was held Friday.

The event connects seniors with local vendors and service providers. Friday's expo had nearly 20 vendors. Those who attended were able to get a free ultrasound of their feet or check their glucose levels.

"I think it's a great thing; preventative types of diagnostic things are always helpful," said Jeff Heino, Director of DICSA. "You catch problems early and get them resolved with lesser intervention. We're providing opportunities for seniors to come in and look at what's available."

Representative Matt Huuki and Sen. Tom Casperson were both on hand to listen to the concerns of seniors. The senator even joined in on the services and had his feet scanned.
