MARQUETTE -- Each year, 50 businesses in Michigan are pegged as 50 Companies to Watch, and this year three of them are in the Upper Peninsula.
Delta Manufacturing, Superior Extrusion Incorporated, and Brute Industries Incorporated were all recognized at an award ceremony Friday afternoon. From 2008 through 2011, these companies generated $1.3 billion in revenue and added over 735 employees.
This reflects a 63 percent increase in revenue and 62 percent increase in jobs.
"Well, it's great for the businesses because it's promoted throughout Michigan, when you're one of the 50 to watch," said business owner Paul Arsenault. "And so, generally speaking, it will increase their business, their revenues, their recognition in the state and in other places that they may do business."
The ceremony was all part of the Great Lakes Summit that took place at Northern Michigan University on Friday afternoon.
