ESCANABA -- The 19th Annual MASH/Good Deed dinner was held at the Danforth Place in Escanaba Thursday night.  It was held by the Community Foundation for Delta County.

The Dr. Mary Cretens Good Deed Award was given to the Delta County Cancer Alliance.  The Most Valuable Player Award was given to U.P. Honor Flight organizers, and the Special Healthcare Awards were given to MGH and Duke LifePoint officials.

The dinner was a chance to give back and recognize those in the community who are doing good.

"And that is a big deal in a small community like Delta County.  And we're very proud of that our board members are terrific and they're well known in the community.  They're unpaid volunteers, and we're very proud of our foundation," said Community Foundation Director, Gary LaPlant.

Last year the foundation gave away over $702,000 in grants to the community.
