MARQUETTE -- The Superior Alliance for Independent Living held its ninth annual Action Day on Thursday.
The event helps inform disabled people and their loved ones on a variety of ways to stay healthy and active. Representatives from Bay Cliff Health Camp and the Department of Natural Resources were on hand to provide information.
"I think there are a lot of misconceptions," said events planner Jessica Manier. "Just because we may walk a little differently or speak a little differently that there's something really wrong and so I think that's a big misconception, but learning to be aware and what's out there and what there is to help you and to be active in the community, and get involved and I think that's a big goal."
Organizers said this year's events were well attended. The Door Cats musical duo provided some live entertainment for participants while they ate lunch.
