CHOCOLAY TOWNSHIP -- The man who robbed a Chocolay Township bank last year will spend eight years and nine months in prison.

Justin Dee McLean was sentenced in federal court on Thursday in Marquette. In May, he pled guilty to bank robbery by force or violence. Last October, McLean carrying a look-a-like gun, robbed the Northern Michigan Bank and Trust in Chocolay Township.

McLean said his "pride and arrogance" clouded his judgment, leading him to commit the crime with his wife and child in the car. He was later arrested in Wyoming and brought back to Michigan.

Thursday morning in court, US District Judge R. Allan Edgar cited McLean's extensive criminal history, and gave the defendant the maximum sentence.
