ESCANABA -- A voter registration drive and political campaign fair was held early on Tuesday at Bay College in Escanaba, and it was a great opportunity for candidates to speak directly to college-age voters.

There was information from Democrats, Republicans, candidates for the state House race, and Delta County Treasurer, as well as non-partisan information.  Students could also apply for an absentee ballot or confirm their voter registration.

"It's a really good opportunity for people to double check and make sure they're registered to vote and so they don't have to go down to the Secretary of State's office," said political science instructor Molly Campbell. "They can do it right here on campus."

Campbell added that her students will be watching televised debates, and the League of Women's Voters will host a candidate forum sometime in October to keep up the election excitement.
