ISHPEMING -- Calorie counters will find something new to love about McDonald's new menu. Across the nation this week, McDonald's will now have the calorie amount of each meal displayed on its menu.

This change comes before a health care overhaul by President Obama that will see all major fast food chains posting caloric information on its menus.

"We've always had nutritional information for our customers, and this just will give them a better opportunity to make the choices that they want to make," said Ishpeming Store Manager Carrie Yunker. "It will definitely show that we do have a lot to offer for the customers that are looking for lower calorie items."

In addition to the menu updates, McDonald's is planning to add additional healthy options for its customers. These additions could include more seasonal fruits and vegetables, an egg white breakfast sandwich and more whole grains.
