MUNISING -- More than 60 young boys and girls had their own bike race Sunday after Saturday's Tour da Woods event.
It was the Tour da Valley Youth Race and family day at the Valley Spur Trail head in Munising. It's an annual tradition following the Tour da Woods.
Kids competed in a 50-yard dash on big wheels and again for bikes with training wheels. Other longer races were from one to five miles. Any children from 2 to 18 could compete as long as they were able to ride a bike.
The day is free for kids and has been growing each year.
"This here, it's all about the kids and watching the kids' faces come across the finishing line just beaming with accomplishment. This makes it all worth it for us to come out here on a Sunday and do this for the kids," said Race Coordinator, John Swanberg.
Race winners were awarded trophies, and everyone ended the day with a pizza party.
