MARQUETTE -- The City of Marquette has announced the official end to beach season.

Tuesday marked the official end of beach season, including Marquette's South Beach and McCarty's Cove. Those beaches will no longer be guarded for the season.

Officials said that if the weather remains warm during the month of September McCarty's Cove only might be guarded on weekends. Beach warning flags will be displayed daily, but officials say that swimmers should remain cautious when using the unguarded beaches.

Picnic Rocks remains a no swimming area.
