SANDS TWP -- Model plane lovers enjoyed some time together at the 5th annual Flyapalooza in Sands Township.

The event is organized by the Sands Model Airplane Club. Throughout the day, model planes flew over the field for the crowd. The club offered raffles, demonstrations for planes and helicopters, and lessons for beginners. At noon, pilots flew full scale planes low over the field which made for some great photo opportunities.

"I think the event today has had a great turnout," said John Anderson, head of Public Relations at SMAC.

"It's getting bigger every year, and it's very successful today, beautiful weather, so it just makes it all the more fun."

The club invites anyone interested in joining them for some fun to come to the field in Sands Township Sunday and Tuesday evenings after 6 p.m.
