A woman is in the hospital following a fall at Little Presque Isle in Marquette Township.
According to the U.S. Coast Guard, the call came in at 5:50 p.m. Saturday. When the Coast Guard arrived on scene, they found the woman lying on the east side cliffs, three feet above the water. She suffered lacerations to the back of her head, but she was conscious. She was taken to Marquette General Hospital for treatment.
The U.S. Coast Guard wants to remind everyone that while jumping off the cliffs is not illegal, it is highly dangerous and not reccommended, especially because of the shallow water.
