HOUGHTON -- The Houghton Police Department has reported that a woman in Houghton filed an assault complaint after a man allegedly tried to force her into his car on Monday around 1 a.m.

The woman reported that she was crossing Montezuma Avenue in Houghton when a vehicle with two men in it stopped and approached her. The driver then exited the vehicle and asked the woman if she wanted a ride, according to police. When she refused, the man tried to forcibly put her in the vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle has been identified as a white man with light facial hair in his 30s. He was also wearing a Detroit Tigers baseball cap, shorts and sandals. Police have described the vehicle as a four door sedan, light blue in color, with lots of rust on it.
