MARQUETTE -- An Ishpeming man was arrested in Marquette on Saturday after police received a call regarding vehicle break-ins.

Marquette police received a call at around 3 a.m. on Saturday morning from a person that witnessed a man, identified as 21-year-old Jesse Jay Croschere, enter vehicles in the 400 block of E. Crescent St.

When officers arrived they witnessed the suspect inside a pickup truck. He spotted the officers and fled on foot, but was captured. Police said that the investigation revealed that Croschere was going into unlocked vehicles and stealing valuables of any kind.

He was lodged in the Marquette County Jail.

The Marquette Police Department would like to encourage all vehicle owners to lock their vehicles and remove any valuables.
